Founded in 2012, Bonamici Cellars was created by consulting winemaker, Philip Soo with good friend and business partner Mario Rodi. They met while working in the corporate world – Phil as a
winemaker and Mario in sales & marketing. Sharing a passion for great Italian wines and a love for the Okanagan inspired them to create Bonamici Cellars.
Bonamici – Italian for “good friends” captures the essence of the brand. It’s about celebrating life with great wine and delicious food bringing family & friends together around the table to enjoy one of life’s simple pleasures.
In 2016, after searching extensively for a permanent home for Bonamici they found the ideal site – a picturesque10 acre property in the Okanagan Falls area surrounded by world class award-winning wineries. Since then, a nine acre vineyard has been planted and a tasting room opened with a new production facility planned for completion in the fall of 2020.

“Two great vineyards – two distinctive Terrior”
Rolling Hills Vineyard – our home vineyard is located in the south Okanagan Falls wine region. An ideal 9 acre site with great orientation for growing high quality grapes. Our west facing slope is planted with our white grape varietals and lighter reds while our south facing slope is planted with our bigger reds.
West facing Slope – Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese & Barbera
South Facing Slope – Cabernet Franc, Syrah & Merlot
Nunes and Farina Vineyard – Our leased vineyard site is located on the east bench of Osoyoos producing high quality red grape varietals including Cabernet Franc, Merlot & Syrah. These varietals have been a core part of our winemaking program since 2012. We will continue to craft high quality wines from this vineyard alongside our home vineyard.
We take a minimalist approach to wine making beginning in the vineyard with growing the highest quality grapes, then taking what mother-nature has provided us and crafting wines that reflect the true nature and expression of that site. We strive to create expressive wines with bright fruit flavours and natural acidity delivering nicely balanced wines that pair perfectly with food.
